OnCue — Terms of Use

Last updated 2026-10-20

These terms apply to your use of the OnCue app, published by DÆRA, the trading name of Anuj Chawla, a sole proprietor in Nova Scotia, Canada ("we", "us"), and take effect on 20 October 2026. By using OnCue you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

What OnCue does

OnCue keeps track of birthdays, anniversaries and other dates, shows what is coming up, and suggests a message for each occasion that you can read, edit and send. The evening before an occasion it can show a notification listing tomorrow’s occasions.

You send your messages

OnCue never sends a message by itself. When you tap WhatsApp or Text, OnCue opens that app with the message filled in, and you decide whether to send it. You are responsible for the messages you send and the people you send them to.

Suggested messages are written from templates and may not suit every person or occasion. Please read each one before you send it.

Third-party apps

WhatsApp and your phone’s messaging app are provided by others under their own terms. OnCue is not affiliated with WhatsApp or Meta, and is not endorsed or sponsored by WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc. WhatsApp is a trademark of its owner.

Address suggestions come from Geoapify, using data © OpenStreetMap contributors. Signing in uses your Google account under Google’s terms.

Your licence, and our intellectual property

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use OnCue on devices you own or control, under these terms and Google Play’s terms.

OnCue, its design, its suggested messages and its name are DÆRA’s intellectual property. Do not copy, modify, resell or reverse-engineer the app except where the law allows. The messages you write or edit are yours.

Who may use OnCue

You must be 18 or older to use OnCue.

Your information and other people’s

What you add to OnCue is yours and stays on your phone, as described in the Privacy Policy, unless you make a backup file and send it somewhere yourself. You are responsible for having the right to keep and use the details you add about other people.

Acceptable use

Do not use OnCue to harass, deceive or send unwanted messages to anyone, or in any way that breaks the law.

Backup files and your password

OnCue can make a backup file of your information, locked with a password you choose. We do not receive the file, we cannot open it and we cannot recover a forgotten password. If you lose the password, the file cannot be opened by anyone. You are responsible for keeping the file and its password safe, and for where you save or send the file.

Restoring a backup replaces everything OnCue holds on your phone with the contents of the file, and cannot be undone. OnCue asks you to confirm first.

Price

OnCue is free. If we ever offer paid features, we will explain them and their price before you are charged anything.

No warranty

OnCue is provided "as is". We work to make it reliable, but we cannot promise that it will always be available or error-free, or that every date will be shown correctly. Please do not rely on OnCue as your only record of important dates.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of OnCue, including a missed occasion, a message you sent, or the loss of information stored on your phone, including a backup file or password you lose. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be limited.

Ending use

You may stop using OnCue at any time. Settings → Your data → Delete everything, or uninstalling the app, removes your information from your phone.

We may stop offering or updating OnCue, and we may end your licence if you break these terms. Because your information is only on your phone, ending the licence never deletes it; you can still delete it yourself.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you live outside Canada, you keep any protection the consumer law of your country gives you that cannot be set aside by agreement.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, for any significant change, tell you in the app. Continuing to use OnCue after a change means you accept the updated terms.
